Billing and plans
How Opereo charges - a monthly hosting fee per agent workspace, a free trial on your first one, and your own AI plan for the thinking.
Overview
Opereo charges for agent hosting: the private, always-on workspace each agent runs on. You pay one monthly amount per hosted workspace. The AI itself — your ChatGPT plan or API key — is yours, so there are no per-message or usage fees from Opereo.
What you pay for
Hosting only. One line per workspace, billed monthly, cancel anytime. Team members are free. Connect your own AI account for the thinking.
The free trial
Founding members get a 30-day free trial on their first eligible workspace, with either monthly or yearly billing. The trial length and the price afterwards are shown on the New employee panel before you start, and the end date appears in Billing as Free trial ends {date}.
A card is required at checkout. Cancel before the trial ends and you're not charged.
The trial covers one workspace. To add a second one during the trial you'll be asked to Start paid plan, which ends the trial and starts billing that day.
Invite rewards
When referral rewards are available on your account, the invite card shows your progress. Five friends who finish signup through your link earn 30 extra trial days. Ten earn 60 extra days in total. Pending invitations count toward your invite allowance, but progress only increases when your friends join.
Extra days extend your original trial from its original start: a 30-day trial becomes 60 days at five joins, or 90 days at ten. If you earn a reward before starting your first trial, the setup panel shows the available trial length. An already-open checkout keeps its saved terms; additional earned days are applied after it completes.
Rewards apply to your original trial workspace, with either monthly or yearly billing. They do not restart an expired trial or reduce charges after billing has begun. The card distinguishes earned rewards from applied rewards; Billing shows the confirmed end date.
Adding a workspace
Every department that has agents has a workspace, so you pay per department that's staffed. Adding more agents to a department that already has a workspace doesn't add a hosting line — New employee in an existing department is free.
When you hire the first agent in a new department, the panel shows what's due:
- On a paid plan, a quote: Due today (prorated for the rest of the current billing period) and the new base monthly total. Click Confirm and add.
- If a checkout is unfinished, the panel says Continue setup and takes you back to it. Your progress is saved.
The Billing page
Open your avatar menu → Settings → Billing. Admins only.
Agent hosting shows your plan, the monthly total, how many workspaces you're paying for, and either Free trial ends … or Current period ends …, plus an Estimated next invoice that includes discounts and taxes.
Payment method & invoices opens the secure payment portal where you can change your card, update billing details, and download invoices.
Your agents lists each hosted workspace with its state — Getting ready, Running, or Removal scheduled for {date} — and a Cancel agent button.
Cancel a workspace
In Billing → Your agents, click Cancel agent next to the workspace.
Read the confirmation: the workspace keeps working until the end of your free trial or the paid period. Then the agents on it and their hosted files are permanently removed.
Click Confirm cancellation. The entry shows Removal scheduled for {date}. Your other workspaces keep running and the next invoice drops accordingly.
You can also cancel from the workspace card in the department sidebar (⋯ → Cancel agent).
Cancellation deletes the agents, their conversations, and the department's hosted files at the end of the period. Export anything you want to keep first.
If a payment fails
Your agents keep working. Billing shows Please update your payment method with a deadline; click Update payment method to fix the card. If payment isn't completed by the deadline — seven days — all agents in the organization and their files are permanently deleted. You'll also get an email when a payment fails and again before removal.
Plans
| Plan | For | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Agent hosting (standard) | One business | Per-workspace monthly price shown at checkout. Free trial on the first workspace. |
| Agency | Running agents for several clients | Volume pricing with a five-workspace minimum. Not yet available in the app — contact us. |
| Platform | Building Opereo into your own product | Custom. See the API. |
Some organizations also see a More storage hosting option at checkout for a higher monthly price.
If your organization doesn't have billing enabled yet, the Billing page says so — "Everything is free while we build it out" — and the New employee panel asks where to run the workspace instead of showing a price.
