Skills
Give your agent reusable know-how - install skills from a hub of tens of thousands, or write your own in a minute.
Overview
A skill is a packet of instructions an agent loads when a task calls for it: how to produce a PDF report, how to research a company, how to write release notes in your house style. Skills keep the identity short and let several agents share the same procedure.
What you can do
Browse and install skills from public hubs, write your own, switch them on and off per agent, and edit any of them.
Open the skills settings
Open the agent's settings and choose skills. You'll see the agent's Installed skills, each with a switch, plus two buttons: Browse hub and Create.
Install a skill from the hub
Click Browse hub. The hub searches skills.sh, GitHub, LobeHub, and other public sources — over 90,000 skills in total. Filter by source if you like.
Search for what you need — "pdf reports", "competitor research", "release notes" — and click a result to read what it does.
Click Scan & install. Opereo scans the skill for anything unsafe before installing it. You'll see Scanning, then Installing, then Installed.
If the scan refuses a skill, the panel says so along with the reason, and nothing is installed. Public hubs are open to anyone, so treat the scan as a seatbelt, not a guarantee — install skills whose descriptions you understand.
Write your own skill
For anything specific to your business, write it yourself. A skill is just a name, a one-line description, and instructions.
Click Create.
Give it a short name (letters, numbers and dashes, like pdf-reports). That's what the skill is called on disk.
Write a description of when to use it — "Turn a folder of invoices into a monthly PDF." The agent matches on these words to decide when the skill applies.
Write the instructions: the steps, the format, the rules. Plain text with headings and bullets works well.
Save. The skill appears under Installed, switched on.
The description matters more than you'd think. It's how the agent decides to reach for the skill. Write it the way you'd describe the task to a colleague.
Turn skills on and off
Hover a skill in Installed and flip the switch. A switched-off skill stays installed but the agent won't load it. Useful for seasonal work or for testing whether a skill is helping.
Edit or remove a skill
Click a skill to open it. You can edit its instructions and Save, or Remove it.
Skills installed from the hub are yours to edit, but the copy is shared by every agent on the same workspace, and a hub update overwrites your changes. If you want a private version, create your own skill and paste the instructions in.
Skills and automations
An automation can name the skills it should use, so a scheduled report follows the same procedure every time.
