Your agent

Files

Upload documents to a department once, then attach them to any agent's conversation.

Overview

Files is the department's shared drawer: price lists, policies, templates, past examples, spreadsheets. Upload once, and every agent in the department can be handed a file when it needs it.

What you can do

Keep the documents your agents work from in one place, preview them, and attach them to a message so the agent reads the real thing instead of your summary of it.

Agents only see a file when you attach it to a message. Uploading to Files makes it available; attaching it makes it visible.

Upload files

Click Files in the sidebar. The Files panel opens.

Click Upload, or drag files onto the panel.

Wait for each upload to finish. Files appear in the list with their type and size.

Supported: PNG, JPEG, WebP, PDF, TXT, Markdown, CSV, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX — up to 100 MB each.

Attach a file to a message

In any agent's chat, click the paperclip (Attach a file).

Pick one or more files from the department, or upload new ones from your computer.

Write your message and send. The agent reads the attachments as part of that request.

Limits per message: up to five files, 200 MB total.

Attach the file with the question. "Summarise the attached contract and list the deadlines" works better than attaching first and asking later.

Files your agent hands you

When an agent finishes a document, spreadsheet, or deck during a chat, it appears in the conversation as a file card and is saved to the department's Files automatically.

Ask for a deliverable: "Write the campaign brief as a Markdown file."

The card shows Saving to Files… while the file is copied from the agent's workspace. Large files take a few seconds.

When it reads Preview, click the card to open it. It is also in Files, ready to attach to any agent's message.

Couldn't save this file means the file wasn't on the agent's workspace, was over 100 MB, wasn't one of the supported types, or the department's storage was full. Ask the agent to export it again in a supported format.

When the agent revises a file it already handed you in the same chat, Files keeps one copy: the newest version replaces the old one, and every card in that chat opens it.

Reopening the conversation later shows the same cards. Deleting the file from Files marks the card unavailable.

Preview and manage

Click a file to preview it — images, PDFs, text, CSV tables, and DOCX open right in the panel. Use Search files to find one by name. Files belong to the department: switch departments and you'll see a different set.

What files are good for

  • Reference material the agent should read exactly, not remember approximately: price lists, terms, brand guidelines.
  • Templates it should follow: your report layout, your email sign-off.
  • Inputs for a task: a spreadsheet to analyse, a transcript to summarise, screenshots to describe.

For information that lives in an app you use every day — email, CRM, store — connect the app instead so the agent always sees the current version.
