Automations
Put work on a schedule - the Monday report, the morning inbox summary, the weekly check-in - and have the result delivered where you'll read it.
Overview
An automation runs a prompt for an agent on a schedule and delivers the result to a channel you choose. It's how an agent does work while you're away: the weekly sales summary lands on your WhatsApp every Monday at 9, whether or not you remembered to ask.
What you can do
Schedule any task the agent can already do, choose how often and when, pick where the result goes, pause and resume with a switch, and start from a library of ready-made templates.
Open the automations settings
Open the agent's settings and choose automations. Existing automations appear under Scheduled, each showing where it delivers, when it runs, and a switch. Two buttons at the top: Browse hub and Create.
Create an automation
Click Create.
Give it a name — "Monday sales summary". Untitled ones are called Untitled automation.
Write the Prompt: what the agent should do each time, briefed like you'd brief a person. "Summarise last week's orders from the Orders sheet: totals, top three products, anything unusual. Keep it under 150 words."
Set the Schedule:
- Frequency — Hourly, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Custom.
- When — the time of day, the days of the week, or the day of the month, depending on frequency. Custom takes a cron expression (for example
0 9 * * 1-5for weekdays at 9:00). - Next run shows when the automation will fire next, so you can check the schedule reads the way you meant.
Choose Send to — where the result is delivered. Local keeps it on the agent's workspace; otherwise pick any connected channel or a linked WhatsApp phone.
Optionally list Skills the run may use, comma-separated, so the task follows a procedure you've already written.
Click Create.
Run the prompt by hand in chat a few times first. When you're happy with the result, paste the same prompt into an automation. Automate what already works.
Start from a template
Click Browse hub to open the automations hub: dozens of ready-made automations grouped by department — Sales, Finance, Marketing, Customer Success, Operations, HR / People, R&D / Engineering. Pick one and it opens as a draft with the prompt and schedule filled in; adjust anything, then Create.
Pause, edit, and delete
- Pause or resume — hover an automation and flip the switch. Paused automations stay in the list marked Paused.
- Edit — click an automation to reopen it. Change anything and Save.
- Delete — open the automation and click Delete.
Automations also appear as chips at the start of a new conversation with the agent, so you can check or edit a schedule without opening settings.
Where results go
| Send to | What happens |
|---|---|
| Local | The run happens on the agent's workspace. Good for tasks whose output lands somewhere else anyway — a row added to a sheet, an email drafted in Gmail. |
| A connected channel | The result is posted to that channel — your team's Slack, a Telegram chat. |
| A linked WhatsApp phone | The result arrives as a WhatsApp message on that phone. |
If a channel you were delivering to is disconnected, the automation keeps its setting and shows it as disconnected until you pick another target.
Good first automations
- Morning inbox summary — Daily, 8:00: "Summarise my unread email and flag anything that needs a reply today." Send to WhatsApp.
- Weekly numbers — Weekly, Monday 9:00: "Pull last week's orders and revenue, compare to the week before, note anything unusual." Send to Slack.
- Content calendar nudge — Weekly, Friday 15:00: "List next week's scheduled posts from the Content sheet and suggest one topic we're missing."
