iMessage

Text your agent from Messages on Opereo's iMessage number.

Overview

Opereo has one iMessage number. Every agent is reached through it: you link your phone to an agent, and from then on whatever you text the number goes to that agent. The channel panel shows whether setup is needed, a phone is awaiting a link, or a phone has linked.

iMessage only. The number does not serve SMS or RCS, so an Android phone gets a short reply saying so. You cannot add your own iMessage number.

What you can do

Reach your agent from Messages — send it a task, get the Monday report, approve a draft — with the same identity and memory it has in the app.

Before you start

  • An agent whose workspace has finished setting up.
  • An iPhone, or Messages on a Mac, that can send iMessage.

Open the agent's settings → channels. Under Ready to use, click Set up on the iMessage row.

Click Link a phone, then Get a code.

The dialog shows the code, the number to send it to, an Open Messages button and a copyable link. On your iPhone, send the pre-filled link <code>.

The agent confirms the link in Messages and the phone appears in the linked list. Opereo also offers you its contact card, so the number shows up with a name.

Codes expire after 15 minutes and work once. Request a fresh code when needed and send the code currently shown.

Use it

Text, replies to a specific message, photos, files, voice memos, reactions and typing all work. Choices appear as numbered lists; answer with the number. Replies arrive as whole messages, and Markdown is flattened to plain text.

Messages reach the same agent identity used in the app. After you have texted the agent once, an automation can send to that conversation under Send to.

Opereo's current messaging defaults keep replies focused on your task. Scheduled results arrive without internal job IDs or management footers, and background maintenance and tool-activity notices are hidden. Brief progress updates, questions, approvals, and failure messages remain available. New, duplicated, and restored agents receive these defaults; existing agents receive them when support applies the settings update. Duplicating an agent leaves the original running with its existing settings. If duplication asks for a workspace update, ask your administrator to update it before retrying.

The channel update also removes the automatic home-channel setup reminder. Once support deploys it, it applies to new and existing agents without changing where your automations send their results.

Voice memos

When transcription is enabled, a single voice memo of up to five minutes reaches the agent as text in the language spoken. A message with several attachments stays intact as files so no photo or second recording is lost. If a memo cannot be understood, the agent asks you to resend it or type it out.

Stop messages

Text STOP on its own, in capital letters (or UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT; OPT OUT in any case), and Opereo stops sending you anything on iMessage, including scheduled reports. Text anything else later and messages resume. A lowercase "stop" or "please stop texting me" goes to the agent instead, which is told to stop sending you scheduled or unprompted messages.

Click Link a phone again for each teammate. A phone talks to one agent at a time; sending a new code from the same phone moves it to that agent. A phone linked by another organization cannot be taken over.

Remove a phone

Use the phone's remove icon and confirm Remove. Its messages stop reaching this agent.
